Indoor and outdoor LED screens
Pitch and brightness are chosen for the room, not for a spec sheet. A sanctuary and a street festival do not want the same cabinet.
Indoor
Close seats need a finer pitch. The indoor range we work in is P2.6 to P3.9, under ordinary house light. Churches, conference rooms, and school halls live here. The picture has to hold up when someone stands ten feet from the wall.
Outdoor
Daylight needs brightness. Outdoor cabinets in this fleet run P3.9 to P6, in the range of 5,000 to 8,000 nits, and they are built to be rained on. Concerts, parades, and stadium concourses live here. A fine-pitch indoor cabinet outdoors is the wrong tool.
Mobile is the third case: the wall is on a truck or a stage that moves. It is still a rental night, with a strike, unless the brief says the wall stays.
